Teacher's Biography:

Welcome to my Winter Haven drum lessons drum teacher profile. My name is Donald Gettens aka “DJ” and I am based out of Winter Haven, Fl. where I run the No Excuses Drum Academy

I am a drum teacher that’s willing and capable to help my students reach their full potential as a drummer with no excuses.

I love music in general and over the years have grown to be a well rounded musician with over 15 years drumming experience

In high school I was a member of the Winter Haven High School Marching Band until my graduation. I studied, not only how to read music, but also apply it in a performance setting. After graduation I attended Polk State College and was a member of the Polk State Concert Band.

I’ve also played in plenty of gospel bands and jazz bands throughout my career as well with a wide range of musical acts.

I am super excited and apssionate to pass on my knowledge and experience to drummers who are at an earlier stage of their drumming journey.

  • As a member of the Total Drummer drum teaching program I have access to huge libraries of teaching material such as the main syllabus, famous song charts, drumless playalong tracks and everything else needed to deliver the best drum lessons possible.
