Evan is a drum teacher in West LA offering drum lessons to drummers in West LA, Westwood, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, Venice, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Torrence, Playa Vista and surrounding areas in Los Angeles.
I started playing drums at age 5 and never looked back.
I was born into a musical family and got my first stage experience in a family band with my Dad in the Santa Barbara area.
As teenagers, my friends and I created the rock band Escapist and performed at venues across California’s central coast.
In 2010, I co-founded the rock band STAGE 11 and performed drums, vocals, and other percussion across three albums, multiple residencies, and dozens of independent concerts across LA, including opening for Jefferson Starship at the Whisky-a-Go-Go in 2018.
I’ve also done session work as a drummer-for-hire with independent rock bands, most recently on Sub:Om’s Back to the Source.
When I’m not drumming, I’m composing. I’ve created music and mixed sound for independent film and new media, and I recently won a Best Sound Design award for my work on indie feature The Good Hearts Club.
My style is heavily influenced by classic jazz and funk records as well as the ‘90s music that sampled them. My lifelong obsession with Mozart inspires me as well.
There’s nothing I love more than sharing my passion for drums with new students, and I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
