Learn some powerful and funky linear tom tom drum beats
This Is The Tom Tom Linear Beats Lesson
Welcome to the tom tom linear beats drum lesson. Here we will learn how to play some really effective tom tom beats. Previously we checked out some funk tom beats.
But today we are tackling linear. With linear drumming you only play one thing at a time. So you don’t layer up with different limbs as you would in a standard drum beat where you might play the bass drum and hi-hat at the same time.
When we start learning linear drum beats we often use the hi-hat, kick and snare. But in this drum lesson we will look at using tom toms within the linear approach to create some very interesting grooves. The result is powerful, funky and quite quirky. And the best part is that they are easy to learn because we slow them down and provide the sheet music so you can learn them even if you’re a beginner drummer.
