Drumless Backing Track
This is the Space Race drumless playalong. It’s written around a rudiment based groove called Paradiddle Mania. There is a full video lesson teaching how to play that groove.
The Space Race track has three distinct sections. There is the straight intro, the melody section (which itself has an A and B part) and then the drum ensemble section at the end. With those three sections the Space Race drumless playalong allows you to try different grooves and fills to practice building a drum part. You don’t have to use the paradiddle mania groove of course, you could just improvise and rock out. The end section is a fun part where you can lay down a solid groove or let loose and improvise some drum solo ideas. The backing drum rhythm is written in the PDF sheet music so you can read that easily if you want to match the rhythm – or just make your own up!
It’s good to try playing to different styles, rhythm types and tempos so check out the other drum playalong tracks to push yourself further.
