This seven eight paradiddle funk drum lesson sounds really complicated and exciting but when we break it down it’s actually really easy. In fact I love taking rudiments and mixing them up to create longer, interesting patterns.
We’re simply going to combine two paradiddle rudiments to make something awesome. Here we are using the paradiddle and the paradiddlediddle. So first we’ll break those down and orchestrate them around the drum kit.
Next we will combine them to make a longer phrase. When this is sped up it becomes very funky and sounds very complex. Check it out below.
