Seven Days Drum Lesson

Learn how to play Seven Days on the drums

This Is The Seven Days Drum Lesson

Welcome to the Seven Days drum lesson. Here we will learn how to play a classic Sting song.

Seven Days was released on Sting’s solo album Ten Summoners Tales in 1993 and features Vinnie Colaiuta on drums.

The album as a whole is a masterclass in drumming but Seven Days is one of the best known tracks and a classic track to study on drums.

It is in five four time signature but uses a clever four note accent phrasing on the hi-hat. In this drum lesson we break that down so that even beginner drummers can understand it. We then look at some variations from the song as well as a fill.

Even if you never actually play this song, I think it is well worth studying the drum part to understand the concept and techniques needed. This will help enrich your playing in odd time signatures, as well as in four four.
