The first was paradiddles. The second was some inspiration from David Garibaldi, the drummer for funk band Tower of Power.
I love how David displaces the snare drums for the main backbeats and his complex sticking patterns making his grooves so mesmerising.
And we can do that just using paradiddles and the common inversions of it. This lesson breaks down one really cool funk groove that does that but the wider lesson is the concept that allows you to create many of your own similar grooves.
