Teacher's Biography:
Welcome to my Locust Grove drum lessons drum teacher profile. I am a drum teacher in Locust Grove, Atlanta, Georgia.
I began playing drums at age 11. Like many others, I was inspired by drummers like Ringo Starr and Buddy Rich. Early on, I was fortunate to have my parents provide me with drum lessons under the direction of William Cerulli in Stamford, Connecticut.
I began playing in jazz ensemble and marching band at school along with local garage bands. I attended the University of Connecticut.
I have also completed a Specialist Certificate program in Drums with Berklee School of Music.
Fun fact: I am a huge fan of the UCONN Huskies basketball team.
Throughout college, I continued to play as much as possible and perfected original as well as cover songs with Jonathan Svec (Splender and Edisun). After school, I returned to Atlanta, Georgia and continued to drum as well as teach drumming.
I now spend my additional time playing in original and cover band projects as well as supporting local worship band services.
I focus on Rock, Blues, Afro-Cuban, Funk and Progessive Rock styles. I use Yamaha Drums, Ludwig Drums, Sabian and Meinl Cymbals as well as various sticks from Vic Firth, Promark and Vater, as well Evans Drum Heads.
As well as continuing as a performing drummer, I am also very passionate about passing the love of drumming on to my drum students.
