Linear Substituting Hi-hat Feet

Learn how to play interesting linear drum beats

This Is The Linear Substituting Hi-hat Feet Drum Lesson

Welcome to the linear substituting hi-hat feet drum lesson. Here we will learn how to play really interesting linear drum beats.

Linear beats simply involve playing one thing at a time. So you don’t layer your hi-hat and bass drum, for example.

Linear is already an interesting approach to drumming. But we will go one step further today.

In this drum lesson we will take some of the notes that were previously played by the hands and we will play them with our left foot on the hi-hat pedal. This means we are using all four limbs so it becomes a real four limb independence test.

These are difficult but we go slow in this drum lesson so even a beginner can cope with these. And once you grasp them you will have a really fresh approach to creating your own linear drum beats.
