Knoxville Drum Lessons

Hi there, my name is Jordan. I have been playing drums since I was 5 years old, which now makes it 28 years of doing what I love most. I started out playing in church as a child early on in my drumming career. From there, I began playing in bands, recording in studios and picking up up every gig I possibly could from my teen years all the way to present day. This journey of playing drums has taught me so many things, not least of which is the ability to be present and to let my creativity take me where it wants to go.

I have played locally and regionally in bands such as The White Liars, VERN, Maps Need Reading and others. I have done session work for worship bands and independent artists. My favorite genres for both playing and listening include indie rock, blues, blues rock, hip-hop, metal, classic rock, punk and grunge. I listen to just about everything, but some of my favorite artists include Led Zeppelin, Wu-Tang Clan, The Black Keys, Post Malone, Iron Maiden, The Marcus King Band, Jason Isbell and the 400 unit, Nas, Nirvana, Blink-182, The Sword, Kendrick Lamar, Cave In, Pixies, Modest Mouse, Gary Clark Jr and many many more. My music tastes are not limited to any list of genres and this also translates directly into my drumming influences.

The reality is that drumming saved my life and I would not be the person I am today with out it. To be able to pass this incredible ability on to others is an honor and a privilege that I do not take lightly.

So you could say I’m passionate about the drums. I believe some people are born with a natural inclination and love for rhythm and groove, but I can promise you this—anyone (and I mean ANYONE) can learn to play the drums. If you have ever thought to yourself (even for a split second) “I wonder if I could do that?” Or “wow, I love the beat in this song. I would love to learn how to play it!” or anything of the like, well then I have great news for you!
