Welcome to this Beatles drum lesson. Here we will learn how to play Come Together on drums.
Come Together was released on the Beatles Abbey Road album in 1969. It features an instantly recognisable bass line and an iconic drum groove.
It is, of course, played by Ringo Starr on the drums and it is one of Ringo’s greatest drumming moments because it is such a unique, interesting and recognizable drum groove.
Ringo is a left handed drummer playing a right handed drum kit so he came up with some very unusual fills due to that left hand leading.
The verse groove in Come Together is one of those examples so in this lesson we learn it as it is but we also look at ways we can create a result that is close enough but might feel more natural to you. We then go on to learn the other key drum parts from the song including some classic Ringo drum fills.
