Ian Paice was the drummer for rock band Deep Purple. They were an English band formed in the late 1960s.
They were all accomplished musicians and experimented early in the career before finding the hard rock sound that they are so famous for.
Along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, they are considered to be the forefathers of heavy metal in the late 60s and early 1970s.
