Cancel Your DTA Membership

If you need to cancel your Drum teacher Academy Membership then you are free to do so at any time.

Before you do I want you to think about a few points so that you have a full understanding.

Once you cancel your membership you will lose access to all the ongoing training, Q&As, playalong tracks, teaching PDFs, support and your drum teaching web profile will be taken down.

This means you will lose one of the best ways to be found by prospective new students.

What if you come back in the future?

In most cases, DTA members will be very welcome to come back in the future.

However, you won’t necessarily be able to pick up where you left off.

  1. The cost of the DTA might have gone up as it has done over time as it has evolved and offers more impact and value to members. It was just $15 per month when it opened but now the price reflects how far it has come in what it offers to members to create successful businesses and create greater income. So please be aware that you would have to come back in at the current price and not the price that you paid when you originally signed up.
  2. Your TD web profile will have lost its rankings in the search engines. If you have a high performing web profile on the TD website, you cannot come back in after a period of time away and expect it to be there again. The page will have been deleted and will have to be recreated so it is, essentially, a brand new page that needs to start from the bottom and climb back up the search engine rankings.

Reasons to cancel

I am not getting results

Results can not be guaranteed and do depend on a number of factors. The biggest factor is the effort you put in. Every member that has gone ALL out and put the effort in has got results. The are not always immediate. In fact they are often not immediate. But we are in this for the long game. Not to build a quick empire but to build a long term, sustainable business that will provide your income for many years.

This does not appear overnight, but as a result of consistent hard work. The DTA gives you the best chance of creating this with training, support and resources to help you get there.

If you are still hungry to make this work so that you can make your entire income from music then don’t give up on the dream. Instead drop me an email and we’ll arrange a call to get you a plan, get you motivated and start making real steps towards this. reach out at info@totaldrummer.com

I can no longer afford the membership

No problem. As you know, the cost of this membership is covered (with excess profit) if you get just one student per week.

If you can’t afford the costs then it might suggest you haven’t get the results you need. Nine times out of ten that happens because people haven’t been motivated enough to put the necessary effort in to get this up and running. Remember, it always takes huge effort at the start. Once you’re up and running you can scale that back but at the beginning you need to work really hard. See the above points and get in touch with me if you want to build a strategy to get this moving forward.

I have enough students now and don’t need the DTA

I understand this but I want to warn you:

Students will come and go. Teaching positions at other institutions can disappear or scale back at any time.

When running a business you need to be aware of that reality so be careful not to completely disregard the ongoing marketing plan.

It is generally accepted that a business in a stable state should spend around 5-10% of turnover on marketing to sustain income over the long term.

If you completely turn things off you might find yourself in a tricky situation if something in your business changes.

Successful businesses continue to re-invest, keep learning, keep pushing forward.

You would be in a much stronger position if you are oversubscribed and start building a waiting list. That way you can dip into your waiting list when your other students drop out.

Some DTA members have even been able to bring on a second teacher so they take commission from those students without having to actually teach them.

This approach to growth is the key to long term sustainable income. Dropping in and out of marketing leads to unstable income with huge ebbs and flows that can leave you vulnerable at difficult times. It can also require huge effort to reengage the marketing machine when you have stopped it.

It’s much better to keep it turned on and accept the business mind set that a percentage of your turnover should be used for marketing, support and growth.

And of course, you maintain access to all the other teaching resources inside the DTA this way which help you provide a better service to your current students.

Please feel free to reach out if you want to discuss a plan for continued growth.
