Learn how to play drum beats using the cascara pattern
This Is The Cascara Drum Grooves Lesson
Welcome, here we will learn how to play cascara drum grooves. The cascara rhythm is Afro Cuban and often played on the sides of timbales.
But what I love to do is steal exciting rhythms from all around the world and look at how we can repurpose them to spice up lots of styles that we might play on the drum set. This is a great way to enrich our drumming and create really interesting rhythms on the drum kit.
In this drum lesson we will break down exactly what the cascara rhythm is and we’ll look at grooves that are closer to an authentic sound. But then we’ll look at how we can develop these for genres such as rock and pop.
