Timing is crucial for any drummer so try this metronome challenge
What is this metronome challenge?
OK so the metronome challenge here involves playing a basic rock beat along with a piece of music that lasts for four bars. The tricky bit comes in half way through because bars one and two have a metronome and backing music to play with. But bars three and four are totally silent.
Your challenge is to keep playing through those silent bars and when the sequence loops back to bar one you will hopefully be in time. If you’re not then you’ve either sped up or slowed down.
With practice you can develop your internal metronome so that you stay rock solid every time throughout this sequence.
