Welcome to the polyrhythm training for drummers. Here we will learn how to play polyrhythms on the drum kit.
A polyrhythm is when you play two contrasting rhythms simultaneously. For example you might play 16th notes at the same time as eighth note triplets.
Both rhythms resolve over one beat but they seem in conflict with each other until that resolution.
That might not sound very musical but when you hear them together they sound really cool. However, it can be difficult to play them both at the same time. So in this drum lesson we break down a really easy way to achieve it.
We also show you how to switch the dominating rhythms and then use it all on the drumkit.
