Welcome to this fun drum test where we discover the tuning range of a drum. You might have a drum and wonder how high you can tune it. And you might wonder how low you can tune a drum.
Many drums have a sweet spot where they sound best. But quite often we can get a larger range of sounds from a drum than we realise. And of course we can vary that even more with different heads, dampening tools and more.
But to keep it simple in this video I will use a fairly standard 14×5.5 inch maple Pearl Masters Custom snare drum with a Remo ambassador coated head.
We will test six different snare tensions from super loose up to very high and a few inbetween. The results might surprise you.
